Bio: Teaching Spanish and the Latino / Hispanic culture is one of Mrs. R's passions. She believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn a new language as it gives them the gift of connecting with more people, a better understanding of their community and the great opportunity to see the world in a different way. She was born and raised in Mexico and has a master of Organizational Psychology degree with a specialty in Industrial Psychology from Universidad de las Americas Puebla (UDLAP). Mrs. R also holds a Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Spanish for K-12. Mrs. R is part of the Brighton community and has been happily married for almost 19 years. She has two beautiful daughters; one is eight years old and the other is four years old. After God, her family is the most important priority in her life. Mrs. R has previous experience in education from preschool to college. She was also part of a beautiful program for several years that helped Canadian missionary families to learn Mexican culture and language during their time in Mexico. When Mrs. R came to the U.S.A, she came as an international student to UCF (University of Central Florida) where she had the opportunity to work for Daytona State College as a Spanish tutor in a special program for underprivileged college students. When she moved to Michigan, she had the honor of working for Ypsilanti Public Schools as a Spanish teacher. "Please, feel free to stop in my class any time to say “Hola”. Remember, in my Spanish class we are a familia and the door will always be open for you." -Mrs. R.
