Cornerstone Christian School!
A letter from Mrs. Sandra Nettleingham, Principal
We consider it a great privilege to partner with parents in educating children at Cornerstone Christian School.
We strive to emphasize the individual worth of each child as a unique creation of God. Here at CCS, we have the opportunity to engage in teaching and learning processes that are intellectually stimulating and spiritually transforming. “For Christian schooling is about pursuing a real understanding of salt and light, and about being transformed by the renewing of the mind. It is about developing young minds into fruitful bearers of the image of Christ in a world gone bland for lack of salt, staggering in darkness since the light has been all but snuffed out.” (Smitherman, Ken. Christian School Comment, ACSI. Vol. 35, 1)
Cornerstone Christian School offers a well-balanced academic program for students in order to provide the best education possible. School is where we learn to think. It’s where we learn how to work and relate to others and to influence the world. Students at CCS are well versed in the core disciplines of Bible, math, science, history, language arts, grammar, and written expression. Enrichment courses incorporated into the curriculum include art, music, physical education, and computer technology. We promote high academic standards, teaching students to strive for excellence in all areas of study.
As students encounter Jesus Christ on a personal level, they learn of God’s special plan and purpose for them. We are privileged to work together with the Christian family, to instill in students a passion for truth. In Romans, Paul tells us, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will” (Romans 12:2). We want students to develop a Biblical worldview that will enable them to articulate their beliefs as well as to be able to evaluate the beliefs and practices of those around them and the culture in which they live.
At Cornerstone Christian School, we place a high value on education and the teachers are committed to being life long learners themselves. The teachers and all staff love the Lord Jesus Christ and are committed to imparting God’s love to the students, parents and each other. Each considers serving God at Cornerstone to be a high calling with great responsibility and blessing.
You are welcome to visit the school and classrooms to see the school in operation. You are invited to call and schedule a tour to learn more about the programs, curriculum and the school. May you seek God’s guidance as you select the school to educate your children.
Teaching to transform lives,
